Lakes and Liars

Yo ho. So I lied about the whole "posting my own stuff here next." Whoops! Been crazy busy though, so haven't had as much time as I'd like to work on that front. And oh what a great lead-in to my next topic! You might ask, "Ryan, what have you been doing that you can't take some time out to make some pretty films/posts so that I may entertain myself watching/reading them." "Working as 1st A.C. on a rad film all day and all night," is what I might respond had this hypothetical question been posed to me by you. Yadadamean?

We're shooting all around NYC in different locations, but the last three or four days, we went upstate to a beautiful lakehouse. T'was breathtaking round those parts, but mostly because it was cold as balls. Did me a little bit of paddling on the lake, a little bit of wading in freezing water, but mostly just worked, worked, worked.

Will post more soon, but not sure how anti the film crew is about having pics/vids up on the intertubes about the film. So for now, it shall remain mysterious. Oh, except for another picture:

So what are the responsibilities and duties of a 1st AC? And dont say assist the camera man or I'll reach through this interweb thing and give you a good ol' fashioned California to New York beatdown.

aaaanywho ... congrats on your project. How much longer on this project? How are those apps coming? Is this something I'll be able to see in the future? If so when and where, cause Im there.

Also, glad to hear you are getting to explore all that NY has to offer. Hows the the new place aka the apt next door to the old one. Is it the same floorplan?

Congrats. Keep up with the posts.

Hey, so if I send you a letter to the set, you might find it 6 years later? Or maybe you're going to find a letter from me that I will send to you 5 years from now? Ok this joke is lame goodbye

Thanks for that detailed response. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.

I know what I want to see posted up here. If you watch your reel of work, I want to see the video of you in front of a backdrop of a rainbow and enthusiastically scrolling through a virtual list of words. Make it happen. Its around 5 seconds into your reel in case you forgot.

You would like to see that wouldn't you??
