Featured Features & Wikipedia
Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at 5:14PM See what I did with the blog post title? "Featured Features"?? Solid gold stuff right there!
In any case, just popping in for a quick update, so here it goes: the last week or two I've been working as an AC [Assistant Camera] on two independent feature films coming through the ole pipeline. One is for director Jean-Christian Bourcart called Memories of the Days to Come. I'm not going to try to explain it, but let's just say it's good and that visually, it deals with the blending of reality and perceived reality (JC's a pretty damn good photographer too so you should probably check out some of his photos since you aren't doing anything else right now).
The other feature is called 69 Love Stories by director Marc Lafia. The whole concept behind it is that it's a re-telling of the same 3-minute-or-so story in 69 similar locations with 69 different sets of actors, with each re-telling constituting its own "event story."
Even more interesting than that is Marc's Wikipeida article! It's massive! It's like 10x the size of my wikipedia article. Ok I don't have one... yet. One of my not-so-secret secret goals in life is to have a wikipedia article about me, not written by me. If you can help make this happen, I won't stop you. Also be sure to include a section that's called, "The Audry Hepburn years(s)." We all know that was a big one.
Also, please give some love to the DP [Director of Photography] I've been working with: Marcus Burnett. Mouse clicks/money/jobs will suffice. Annnnnd, I'm out.

for us non-artsy honkies, could you explain what an AC and DP are?
Well dear sir, AC = Assistant Camera, and DP = Director of Photography (i edited the OG post to help you out, cause i know you like that kind of thing). The DP is the king of all things camera and lighting on a film/video/what have you. If you like how a film looks visually/stylistically, you can thank the DP. For instance, I know you really like how Ed the movie looks, that's thanks to Alan Caso the DP, who has also shot such classic films as Muppets From Space, and Reindeer Games. The AC is like second hand man on all things camera, with responsibilities such as focus-pulling, lens-changing, camera-maintenance, media-management, etc. Ya feel me?
YET ANOTHER POSTED POST (see what I did there ... certified solid platinum or even better ... A-bomb grade plutonium)
So many links distracting me from my studies, you should know better.
I liked JC's photos, especially the ones that are not straight traditional portraits (i.e. Willem Dafoe and David Lynch)
Out of all of ML's works and accomplishments listed on his wikipedia page ... I have a feeling Melissa likes his involvement with Michael Jackson's Black and White video the most.
As for your work on two films as an AC, eh, I suppose some congratulations are in order .... Well, would you look at that, time to go.
keeping busy busy.. i can definitely aid in the construction of your wiki article.. though you might not enjoy a few details i will most certainly provide
i want to see more of your stunning work my dear friend....
by that I mean more of your own leisure photos rather than the worked work (just following the crowd here) you have been doing
I see what you did there Jother, and I like it. I'm a fan of those portraits too actually. If I didn't know better, I would say you had good taste in things. Ho ho ho! Sizzled. Actually, the only reason I make those links is to make you click around and not achieve MSII status. Namean?!?
As for you vinchenzo, I hear you man. I am going to start adding more of my own content. Good shout. Also, there is nothing you can put in that wiki article that would shame me, except that one time with that one thing with that other thing. You know what I'm saying...
