Ralph Lauren Casting Shoot
Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 10:58PM Hey world, I just got back from working as an AC on a behind-the-scenes "mood piece" for Ralph Lauren. All the footage we shot is going to eventually be compiled into this short piece that shows the RL creative process in action, from casting to the runway. Should be pretty cool. I was helping out DP Marcus Burnett and artistic director Nathan Copan, who have both collaborated on this exact kind of thing before, so it was pretty smooth sailing (you can see one of their previous pieces here). The footage we shot looked pretty good so hopefully it turns out nicely!
On a side note, it was pretty exciting being in the Ralph Lauren headquarters for the first time. The man himself was there judging all the models for next week's fashion show, and I almost ran right into him in the hallway because I wasn't looking where I was going. Whoops! If only I had though, I would have been touched by the shiny greatness of the man who makes my favorite casual-yet-dressy polo shirts. Unfortunately that magical moment slipped away and we are no longer destined to be best friends. He also did not hook me up with any free clothing, though I could tell he wanted to.
Here are a few pictures!

Nice ... whenever I wear a RL polo I wonder what it would be like to play polo. What kind of food was saran wrapped fro the RL himself? Almonds and brownstuff?
I believe that's an apple dear brother!
Of course ... so obvious now. I liked the Rugby piece you put a link to. The mood piece you worked on is gonna be similar but behind the scenes, or totally different?
nevermind
Touche.
As mcewok would say: "fantabolous!" -- we are looking forward to seeing you next week. Have a great weekend. Off to Vegas to spend sometime with James Arthur Ray; later.
Bad ass! Sounds like loads of fun and tons of work. I'm jealous!
