Life, Film, and Extras. Oh My!

Today marks the end of day 17 of principal photography for the film In Memory of the Days to Come

Whilst I was pooping, reminiscing upon this day of days, I couldn't help but think that this is the life. I'm not sure how or when it happened, but somewhere in between wipes it really sunk in that I love what I'm doing. There's something about New York too. It could be the ridiculously ego-centric way people here think the world revolves around them, but I'm not sure. I have to admit, there's an energy and feeling in the air that anything is possible. Well played empire state.

Now for some fun facts. Well, only two because I'm exhausted.

Fact #1:

On our production, we have a French director, a Spanish-by-way-of-Mexico assistant director, British script supervisor, Australian make-up designer, Irish producer, Israeli gaffer, and an American assistant camera [that's me]! Oh 21st century...

Fact #2:

My dear friend and former roomie Candice Chan, and her paler counterpart Darren Franich, graced our set as extras during the art gallery sequence. You can see them oh so quickly in this brief clip. They are the grey blur and such on the right side of the frame [sorry guys, couldn't find a better clip yet].

More pics/clips to come around the bend!

Life is good.

Lakes and Liars

Yo ho. So I lied about the whole "posting my own stuff here next." Whoops! Been crazy busy though, so haven't had as much time as I'd like to work on that front. And oh what a great lead-in to my next topic! You might ask, "Ryan, what have you been doing that you can't take some time out to make some pretty films/posts so that I may entertain myself watching/reading them." "Working as 1st A.C. on a rad film all day and all night," is what I might respond had this hypothetical question been posed to me by you. Yadadamean?

We're shooting all around NYC in different locations, but the last three or four days, we went upstate to a beautiful lakehouse. T'was breathtaking round those parts, but mostly because it was cold as balls. Did me a little bit of paddling on the lake, a little bit of wading in freezing water, but mostly just worked, worked, worked.

Will post more soon, but not sure how anti the film crew is about having pics/vids up on the intertubes about the film. So for now, it shall remain mysterious. Oh, except for another picture:
